Terms of service

Last updated: 25 March 2026

1. What this service is

BBE Buddy is a source-grounded assistant for teachers, built around formative practice. It is a product of Nathan Derkse.

2. Account and registration

You need an account. At registration you provide a valid email address and, optionally, your name.

  • Keep your credentials confidential.
  • You are responsible for all activity under your account.
  • Provide accurate and current information.

We may block or remove accounts in case of misuse or breach of these terms.

3. Subscriptions and payment

Current pricing is on the pricing page. Payments are processed by Stripe. Monthly subscriptions bill each month; annual subscriptions are paid upfront for twelve months. You can cancel at any time and keep access until the end of the current billing period.

4. Intellectual property

Your content: everything you upload, enter or generate — documents, conversations, materials — remains yours. We claim no ownership over it.

Our platform: the software, its design, the knowledge base and the underlying technology are our intellectual property. You receive a limited, non-exclusive licence to use the platform for the duration of your subscription.

5. AI-generated output

Important: this is an AI tool, not a substitute for professional judgment. Output may contain inaccuracies. You are responsible for reviewing everything before you use it in your teaching.

We aim for high-quality, source-grounded output, but cannot guarantee it is always complete, correct, or suited to your specific situation.

6. Liability

The service is provided as is. We aim for high availability and quality but cannot guarantee uninterrupted uptime. Our liability is limited to the amount you have paid us in the past twelve months. We are not liable for indirect damages, consequential damages, lost profits or data loss, to the extent permitted by law.

7. Data processing

How we handle personal data is described in the privacy policy. By using the service you agree to the processing described there.

8. Termination

You can cancel your account and subscription at any time from your account settings or by contacting us. After cancellation your account and all associated data are deleted within 30 days. We may terminate your account if you breach these terms; in that case you receive a refund for the remaining subscription period, unless the termination follows serious misuse.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. For material changes we will notify you at least 30 days in advance by email. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms; if you do not agree, you may cancel.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the applicable law of the jurisdiction in which the service operates. Disputes are submitted to the competent court in that jurisdiction.
